This is usually due to limited information being given to a homeowner regarding is wrong with their house and the fact the they may be taken advantage of by individuals in the industry due to their lack of knowledge.

what happens on a regular basis is that homeowners panic as soon a they feel they may have a serious case of damp of rot and then they quickly scurry to the yellow pages or the Internet to find the first company that offers damp or timber treatments. Many of these companies will visit your home and compile a report telling you of all the areas that are going to require work to be carried out in order to reduce or rectify any problems that may be occurring. Often the solutions that are put forward for these troubles are vastly overpriced and in most cases not needed, but again due to lack of knowledge the homeowner quickly agrees to the work to be undertaken.

sadly once this is done and completed often the problems still persist and further work is required to correct the problem the was wrongly diagnosed in the first instance.
